Fraudster MP claimed £151,000

CONVICTED expenses cheat Eric Illsley claimed more cash than every MP except one, figures revealed yesterday.

The fraudster who was jailed earlier this year, received just over £151,000 between the general election in May last year and April this year in what campaigners called a “kick in the teeth for taxpayers”.

He was only beaten into second place by Labour’s David Lammy, MP for Tottenham just seven miles from Westminster and London’s poorest area. He claimed almost £174,000, mostly in staffing costs which included having to fund maternity cover.

My comment: £151K plus an MP's salary and he still fiddled his expenses.
