Councillor involved in new four-letter Twitter row

THE controversial ex-leader of the Conservatives on South Tyneside Council is in hot water again after using abusive language on a social networking site.

During a recent exchange on Twitter, Coun David Potts used a sexually explicit term when referring to a fellow Tweeter.

In his exchanges with ‘Cleadonsteve’ he also labelled him a ‘little s***’, and claims he makes more money in a month than he does in a year.

It’s the second time 28-year-old Coun Potts has raised hackles by his choice use of language.

Earlier this year the self-confessed alcoholic used his Twitter account to label South Shields MP David Miliband a “w****r” for accepting a role with Sunderland AFC.

He resigned from the Conservative Party after the outburst, and now serves as an independent for the Cleadon and East Boldon ward.

But he has only attended one council meeting since the turn of the year, causing anger among political opponents who say he has no right to claim his councillor’s basic £700-a-month allowance.

My comment: Another dodgy elected representative outing themselves.
