A motorist has accused Camden council of "extortion" after she was accused of parking on double yellow lines about two miles from where her car was located.
Katie Clements, 37, was sent a penalty charge notice for an alleged offence in Highgate in December when her car was outside her home in Chalk Farm.
When she phoned the council its staff said there must have been an mistake because when they looked on their system they found a picture of an empty parking bay.
But months later Miss Clements received a letter from contractor Task Enforcement Ltd telling her to pay £198.44 or face a visit from bailiffs.
My comment: Don't you just love councils like Camden.
