Student saves victim ‘as cops sat 25 yards away in patrol car’

A BRAVE student told yesterday how she risked her life to stop a brutal street robbery while two cops sat in their patrol car just 25 yards away. Gutsy Marie Wastlund, 27, ran to the rescue after a night out when she saw three hooded thugs kicking and throttling a woman in the street.

She claims she frantically waved at the officers, parked just along the road, but they ignored her pleas for help.

Supt Ian Wylie said: “I intend to investigate how we responded to this incident to make sure that our officers are providing the highest possible standard of service.”

My comment: Why am I no longer surprised at stories like this about the Police?
