Aberdeen Councillor caught in red light district

An Aberdeen councillor has been fined £200 after he was caught by police loitering in the city's red light district.

Gordon Leslie, 65, was selected as the Lib Dem candidate for the city's new Donside constituency shortly before the election. But he quit hours after the announcement after it emerged that he had been charged with prostitution offences.

Leslie had served in local government for 11 years. The councillor for the Bridge of Don ward, he stood down as the party's Holyrood candidate for Aberdeen Donside soon after his arrest.

My comment: At least he stood down when caught unlike many public officials who try and spin their way out of trouble and cling onto their jobs.
