Drink-drive ambulance driver is banned

AN AMBULANCE driver has been banned from the road after he admitted drink-driving when he was involved in a seven-vehicle crash while answering a 999 call from Spondon.

Four people were injured in the accident on the A52 near Bardills Island, near Stapleford, on October 23. Fire crews from Highfields station were called out and freed two people from vehicles. Firefighters were at the scene for about an hour.

My comment: Driving a high speed emergency vehicle whilst two and a half times over the limit is indefensible.
