Councillor in breach of planning laws over gifts sold in Horncastle tearoom

A CONSERVATIVE councillor – and brother of Justice Secretary Ken Clarke – could face enforcement action after investigators caught him breaching planning laws for a second time.

Michael Clarke, a member of the East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) standards committee, has been allowing his wife to sell collectibles and fine china inside his tearooms, despite instructions preventing the premises being used for anything else.

My comment: Councillors don't appear to think the rules apply to them, was he a member of the double standards committee? :)
