Luton Council paid people £20 to attend a 'ways of save money' meeting

Conservative councillors in Luton, Bedfordshire, are calling for an inquiry into why members of the public were paid £20 each in shopping vouchers to turn up at a meeting to discuss ways of saving money. The council is planning to make 300 job cuts in the next financial year.

My comment: I have an idea, stop this sort of nonsense.

I found this information at the bottom of the article about Ealing Council spending £1million to cut a foot of their desks.
