Fat Cats’ High life on our cash

COUNCIL fat cats will enjoy a lavish dinner at the top of the BT Tower while axing thousands of jobs.

Taxpayers could face a hefty bill for tickets to a string of events, ranging from £120 to £845 each.

While the bosses live the high life, 140,000 council staff face the sack this year.

The events, held by the  Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE), are sponsored by BT and other big firms competing for council contracts.

The season started last month with a dinner at London’s Savoy Hotel, then a jolly at St Andrew’s in Scotland last week.

My comment: Private companies spending money wining and dining council senior officers in the hope of getting a contract out of them. Isn't there a word for that and why isn't Eric Pickles putting a stop to it?
